I must express my heartfelt appreciation to my #Ukrainian students who journeyed from various parts of #Slovenia, with some embarking on hours-long trips. They orchestrated delightful surprises that turned me into a cake connoisseur and a poetry critic all at once. They showered me with numerous handmade traditional gifts, serenaded with songs, and even provided an ample supply of wine that would’ve made Dionysus proud. 🙂

Special thanks for the doorstep delivery of a homemade Napoleon cake (Ukrainian-style Mille-feuille).

Furthermore, some of them graciously opened the doors to their asylum accommodations, which felt like a tour of the quirkiest Airbnb you’ve never encountered, yet it was brimming with humanity and moving stories.
