Lovely card from my Ukrainian student

When your students start expressing their love for you in the sweetest and most unexpected ways, you know you’re doing something right!

We were just innocently diving into the world of greetings and Christmas cards, and then bam! These greetings came flowing in, but not in the expected Slovene language, no no! They were channelling their inner Slovene-speaking wizards!

“Greeting card – Thank you letter” turned into a heartfelt tribute to the one and only me, who apparently has earned herself the prestigious title of “favourite teacher.”

But it doesn’t stop there; they declared me not only their teacher but a “friend for life.” Now, that’s a friendship sealed with language lessons!

“Thank you for your kindness, for your patience, for your great work, for the strength you spent on us, for all this time spent with us, for your support and understanding. We are proud that you are teaching us, refugees from Ukraine, the Slovene language. During the training, you became for us not only a teacher, but also a friend for life. Thank you for being!
